Astana
Astana is the new young capital of Kazakhstan. The location of Astana city is strategically advantageous crossroads of caravan ways which attracted inhabitants of the Steppe for a long time.
Today,Astana is a fairly large city with an area of more than 200 km3. In 1999, Astana, by decision of UNESCO, received the title - "City of Peace".
After gaining capital status and organizing a special economic zone "Astana - a new city," many modern architectural and urban planning projects are being implemented in the city. The cultural and educational institutions of the city also include the Congress Hall, the Youth Palace and the Presidential Cultural Center. Baiterek Monument is the main symbol of the city.
BAITEREK
One of the main attractions of Kazakhstan -Baiterek Monument is a futuristic tower in the capital of Kazakhstan Astana, it is a symbol of the capital move, a new stage in Kazakh people’s life. According to the legend, Baiterek is the tree of life, the destination of the sacred bird, Samruk.
The height of the steel barrel without the ball is 97 meters. The total height is 105 meters. This is a reference to 1997, the year of the new capital proclamation. At a level of 4.5 meters underground there is a cafe aquariums, and a mini gallery “Baiterek.” You can go up on the elevator on the upper level, where panoramic hall and bar are located.
In the center of the panoramic hall a wooden globe with 17 petals signed by 17 representatives of various world religions is installed. And near the globe, there is a mould of the palm of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. If you put your palm on mould of the palm, then the music will play. People believe that, if you put your palm in the mould, your dreams will come true.
WATER - GREEN BOULEVARD
Water-Green Boulevard (Boulevard Nurzhol) is located in the new administrative and business center of Astana, on the left bank of the River Ishim. This construction has a pedestrian zone, extending from the president's residence Ak-Orda to the Khan Shaty rshopping cener. There are several architectural sites along the boulevard, which were built by famous domestic and foreign architects. Parking facility is on the lower level, the average level is occupied by commercial pavilions, business offices. The pedestrian area, decorated with flower beds, fountains, beautiful floral walkways with benches occupies the upper zone.
You will be admired the fountains of Water-Green Boulevard, each of which has its own individual design and unique image. Twelve statues are one of the main decorations of the boulevard. These are sculptures of a sage, a guard, a shaman, a dancer and others.
Building with two towers and a magnificent building Transport-Tower are built at the Round Square, its steps are made in the form of a fountain, reminding of a small waterfall. The height of the tower is 155 meters.
Nowadays, Water-Green Boulevard is one of the main attractions of Astana, which is visited by residents and guests of the capital every day in order to walk around this beautiful place and admire these amazingly beautiful fountains.
